I got the idea for the roses in this purse from a photograph in the book "Beaded Amulet Purses" by Nicolette Stessin. The original purse was designed by Susan Jackson. If you look at the photograph in the book, though, it really doesn't even resemble hers. Susan Jackon's purse is done using Japanese Cylinder beads in beautiful irridescent shades and is much more complicated than mine. I worked it in my early days of beading, and didn't have the colors or experience to do it right.
